The Digital Security Forum was held

The forum "Financial Navigator: the path to confidence and security" was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University on the basis of the Farabi Hub.

 

 

The forum is organized by Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in cooperation with the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market, the FinGramota project.kz and Freedom Bank. The event was dedicated to improving financial literacy among young people, countering online fraud, and developing safe behavior skills in the digital environment.

Margulan Ibraimov, Vice-rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, delivered a welcoming speech. He noted that more than 30,000 students study at the university, and it is during this period that the foundations of responsible financial behavior are being formed. "Financial literacy today is the most important competence directly related to digital security and informed decision–making. Holding a joint online competition by financial organizations on the topic "Droppery: Easy money - heavy consequences" is an urgent and socially significant initiative aimed at raising students' awareness of the risks of financial offenses and involvement in illegal schemes",- said Margulan Ibraimov.

The Vice-Rector expressed gratitude to the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market, the project FinGramota.kz , as well as Freedom Bank for the implementation of the initiative and contribution to the development of financial culture among young people. He also stressed that the university is interested in further expanding cooperation. According to him, taking into account the developed scientific and technological infrastructure, KazNU is ready to act as a platform for the implementation of large-scale initiatives in the field of financial literacy, digital security and countering fraud among young people.  The Vice-Rector also suggested considering the development of a strategic partnership with Freedom Bank in terms of forming a startup ecosystem and training a new generation of personnel.

"Every year, more than 60 startup projects are formed at the university, of which up to 20 can be selected for joint support and investment. More than 500 students per year are involved in educational and practice-oriented programs, which creates a stable talent pool for the financial sector," M.Ibraimov emphasized.

Olzhas Kizatov, Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan, also delivered a welcoming speech. He focused on the growth of digital financial services and the associated risks.

During the forum, presentations were made by Yalkunchan Ganiev, Executive Director of Freedom Bank, Alexander Repnikov, financial consultant, Ildar Zhumadilov, an expert at Freedom Broker, Dmitry Akmaev, representative of the National Payment Corporation, as well as representatives of law enforcement agencies. The participants discussed the issues of online loans, personal budget management, investment and protection against digital fraud. Special attention was paid to the topic of droppery and responsibility for participation in financial offenses.

The performance of the general producer of the film "Baiqa! Alaiaq" by Elnar Kurmashev and the actors who presented fragments of a picture based on real cases of online fraud.

At the end of the forum, the winners of the financial quiz among the students were awarded.
