On April 23, 2026, within the framework of the Decade of Science, Professor Gulzhaukhar Kokenbayeva, Doctor of Historical Sciences from the Department of World History, Historiography, and Source Studies at 91ý Kazakh National University, delivered a leadership lecture at the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University on the topic "Materials Related to the History of Kazakhstan in European Archives."

The lecture presented the results of Professor Kokenbayeva's long-term research conducted in foreign archives. These studies were supported by various international and Kazakhstani grants. Specifically, Gulzhaukhar Kokenbayeva conducted scientific research: in 2003, via a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) grant; in 2005, 2006, and 2007, under the "Cultural Heritage" state program; in 2011, under an agreement between the Central State Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan; in 2011, via the "Best University Teacher" grant; in 2016, via an international grant from the German Historical Institute; in 2022, under a grant project from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan; and in 2024, commissioned by the Central State Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan as part of the "Archive–2025" program.

In her lecture, the professor described the efforts to locate and retrieve materials related to the history of Kazakhstan preserved in the Federal Military Archive of Germany, the German Federal Archive, the Political Archive of the German Federal Foreign Office, the archive of the Ministry for State Security of the former GDR, the Central Archives of Historical Records in Poland (Archiwum Akt Nowych), the B. Waligóra Military Archive in Poland, the Archive of the Institute of National Remembrance in Warsaw, and the Open Society Institute Archive in Budapest (Hungary). She also introduced the contents of several key documents. The lecture attracted significant interest from students, master's candidates, and faculty members of the Department of History.
