Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev paid a working visit to the international branch of the university in Bishkek in order to evaluate the results of its activities and determine further directions for strategic development.

During the visit, the head of the educational institution held an extended meeting with the branch's management, faculty, staff and students.

At the meeting, Zhanseit Tuimebayev highly appreciated the dynamics of the progressive development of the branch, emphasizing its important role of the Golden Bridge in strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in the field of education and science. In his speech, the rector recalled that this structural unit is a historic project, opened on May 26, 2022 with the personal participation of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov.

Today, 12 fundamental educational programs in bachelor's and master's degrees are being successfully implemented here. Among them, the most popular specialties are "Jurisprudence", "Management", "Computer Engineering" and "Foreign Philology". Currently, the branch has 1,170 students and 24 undergraduates, in addition, more than 633 applicants were accepted for training this academic year, which indicates a significant increase in the student body. The educational process is conducted in Russian and English in accordance with international standards.

During the meeting, the head of the university focused on priority areas that meet modern educational trends, outlining the tasks of developing information technology and pharmaceutical laboratories, fully digitalizing the educational process and deepening international cooperation. At the same time, the head of the university stated the need to expand academic mobility, increase the number of double-degree education and exchange programs, as well as systematically organize online lectures by leading professors of the parent university for students of the branch.

Special attention was paid at the meeting to increasing the potential of the Law education program: the rector invited students and teachers to jointly develop projects of practical importance in the field of regulatory regulation and customs control. According to the rector, the current young generation, thanks to their fluency in modern technologies and creative thinking, is able to make a real contribution to improving digital mechanisms and optimizing cross-border processes.

Following the results of the working visit, comprehensive tasks were identified to further deepen bilateral cooperation. In this regard, important decisions were made to expand academic exchange and implement joint research projects, bring the quality of educational services to a new level, organize international advanced training courses for faculty and administrative staff, as well as to gradually modernize the material, technical and scientific laboratory facilities of the branch.
