KazNU teachers have become leaders of the international JoVE platform
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a large-scale training on modern digital solutions and research methods, with the participation of representatives of the leading international scientific and educational platform JoVE (Journal of Visualized Experiments). The event brought together the university's faculty, who are interested in integrating advanced educational technologies into the educational process and scientific activities.
During the seminar, Azgi Almamedova, the regional manager of the JoVE platform for Kazakhstan, and Verena Shafik, a customer support specialist, presented new scientific videos, current platform updates, and effective digital tools to enhance students' independent work. KazNU scientists and teachers tested the possibilities of the resource in practice and discussed the issues of its implementation in modern lecture classes.
Today, JoVE is one of the most sought-after international digital resources providing access to world-class scientific videos and visual educational content.
According to official data announced during the seminar, the number of views of the platform's materials from the KazNU community has exceeded 120,000 in recent months. This indicator proves the high interest of university users in global digital formats and demonstrates their leadership at the international level.
Within the framework of the event, a solemn awarding ceremony was held for KazNU teachers who effectively and actively use the capabilities of the JoVE platform in their professional and pedagogical activities.
Among them, Alfiya Nurmukhanova, a senior lecturer at the Department of Thermophysics and Technical Physics of the Faculty of Physics and Technology, Candidate of Technical Sciences, took the first place with advanced results. The second place went to Associate Professor of the Department of Finance and Accounting at the Higher School of Economics and Business, Candidate of Economics Rysty Sartova, and the third place went to Professor of the Department of Biotechnology at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, Candidate of Biological Sciences Svetlana Turasheva. Zhazira Supiyeva, a teacher of the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis and Petrochemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, took the fourth prize. The teachers, recognized as the best, were awarded special international certificates and memorable gifts.
According to the organizers, such international initiatives directly contribute to the formation of a modern digital academic culture of the university, expanding the access of teachers and students to the world's best educational resources.
