An educational meeting was organized at the Zhetysu Customs Post of the Department of State Revenues for Almaty City as part of the Open Day event.
Pursuant to Clause 20 of the Action Plan for Informational Work Decomposed at the Level of Various Target Groups of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, approved by Decree No. 1147 of the Office of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 31, 2022, and with the aim of fostering a "zero tolerance" principle towards corruption in society and enhancing the transparency of state revenue bodies, an educational Open House meeting was organized on May 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the "Zhetysu" Customs Post of the State Revenue Department for Almaty City.
The event was attended by Nursultan Iglikuly Kulbarakov, Head of the "Zhetysu" Customs Post of the State Revenue Department for Almaty City; Aykerim Abukhanovna Aliyaskarova, Chief Specialist of the "Zhetysu" Customs Post; G.A. Kuanalieva, Head of the Department of Customs, Financial, and Environmental Law of the Faculty of Law at 91ý Kazakh National University; as well as the faculty members of the department and students of the Faculty of Law.
During the meeting, the participants gained a comprehensive insight into the daily operations of the customs post. As part of the Open House, students and faculty members witnessed firsthand the customs control procedures, the cargo clearance process, the inspection of goods and vehicles, the stages of customs clearance, and the modern operations of state revenue bodies. Furthermore, customs officers provided extensive explanations on control mechanisms, security measures, and legal compliance required during international freight transportation.
During the event, Aykerim Abukhanovna Aliyaskarova briefed the students on the core functions of the customs post and explained the specific aspects of customs control procedures. She also shared insightful perspectives with the future professionals regarding the responsibilities, professional ethics, and the overall significance of public service in the customs sector.
The participants familiarized themselves with the material and technical infrastructure of the customs post, the cargo reception and inspection areas, and the operational procedures of customs control zones, while also asking the specialists their questions of interest.
The students who attended the Open House gained a closer understanding of the customs sector's operations and left highly impressed. Such educational meetings contribute significantly to fostering a culture of integrity, legality, and anti-corruption among the youth.
