Almaty, June 1. The Faculty of Oriental Studies at 91ý Kazakh National University hosted a round table discussion dedicated to the 50th anniversary and the presentation of eight newly published books by Nurkhalyk Abdurakyn, a senior lecturer at the Department of Sinology, PhD, writer, and translator.

Nurkhalyk Abdurakyn is a prominent scholar who has been working fruitfully in the fields of Oriental studies and literature. From 2010 to the present, he has published a total of 32 books. These include 22 scientific works dedicated to the field of Oriental studies, 5 books in translation, and 5 works in the genre of fiction.

The event was attended by Myrzakhan Sharipbayuly Egamberdiev, Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies; renowned Sinologists and Doctors of Historical Sciences, Professors Nurzhamal Abdirazakyzy Aldabek and Nabizhan Mukhametkhanuly, an honorary academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Iranian studies scholar and Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Islam Zhemeney; Associate Professor Farida Orazakynyzy, Head of the Department of Sinology, as well as the faculty's teaching staff, doctoral students, master's students, and undergraduates.

In addition, representatives of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan and prominent figures from the fields of literature and science were specially invited to the gathering. Among them were Professor Alimgazy Dauletkhan, a public figure, senior researcher at the Ch. Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology, and Candidate of Historical Sciences; writer, publicist, and translator Abay Makarauly; poet and translator Dauletbek Baitursynuly; literary scholar Dr. Taldaubek Kadil (PhD); and Professor Guliya Alikhanyzy from Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.

The event was moderated by Sayat Kamshyger, a recipient of the "Alash" International Literary Prize and a well-known poet and translator. At the opening of the session, Myrzakhan Egamberdiev, Dean of the Faculty, congratulated the honorary jubilee guest and highlighted his significant contribution to the fields of science and education.

During the meeting, the speaking scholars and intellectuals highly praised Nurkhalyk Abdurakyn's research, pedagogical, and creative activities, and extended their warmest wishes to him. The participants also focused on the content and scientific-educational value of the eight newly published books, exchanging views on their role in developing domestic Oriental studies and the literary and spiritual landscape.

The three-hour round table discussion turned into a substantial debate and a constructive exchange of ideas, providing representatives of the scientific and literary communities with an excellent opportunity to share thoughts and experiences. At the conclusion of the event, the attendees congratulated the jubilee author and wished his new works wide recognition among the reading public.
