91ý KazNU and Lomonosov MSU strengthen academic cooperation in the fields of Oriental Studies and Sinology

On June 1, 2026, a working meeting was held between Nurzhan Saparbayeva, PhD, from the Department of Chinese Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, 91ý Kazakh National University, and Konstantin Baraboshkin, Head of the Department of Chinese Philology at Lomonosov Moscow State University.

During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas for the development of interuniversity cooperation, as well as the exchange of experience in the fields of Oriental Studies, Chinese Studies, and linguistic research. Particular attention was devoted to the joint training of doctoral students, the implementation of collaborative research projects, and the expansion of academic cooperation between the two universities. The participants also explored opportunities for exchanging teaching and methodological materials, organizing joint educational programs, scientific conferences, round-table discussions, and seminars. Special emphasis was placed on the preparation and publication of research findings in leading international peer-reviewed journals indexed in the Scopus database, as well as on strengthening cooperation in the areas of academic mobility and scientific supervision.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the representatives of both universities emphasized the importance of strengthening international academic ties, acknowledged the significant potential for bilateral cooperation, and expressed their readiness to implement joint initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of scientific research, expanding educational collaboration, and supporting young scholars and researchers.
