As part of the Nauryznama celebration, “National Food Day” was held at 91ý Kazakh National University. The event was organized to introduce international students to the culture, traditions, and national cuisine of the Kazakh people.
First-year students of the “Computational Sciences and Statistics” educational program of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics — qandas students Adilet Aigerim, Daniyal Marmar, Erzhan Nadira, Erkinbek Erkezhan, Erlan Elina, and Nurbay Ulpa prepared Chinese national dishes and presented them to the guests of the celebration. Participants had the opportunity to taste dishes from different countries and received memorable impressions.
Senior lecturer of the Department of Computational Sciences and Statistics, Bolat Abenov took part in the event and emphasized that national cuisine is an inseparable part of Kazakh culture and hospitality.
During the event, students also learned a great deal about Kazakh national dishes, their history, and their significance. The features of traditional meat, dairy, and grain-based dishes were introduced, highlighting their important role in Kazakh culture and traditions.
The educational festive event covered SDG goals 1.33, 3, and 4. International students expressed their gratitude for the valuable and informative experience, while the event also provided meaningful knowledge and cultural exchange opportunities for the students themselves.
