Oxford University Press Methodological Seminars for English Language Teachers were held at the Faculty of Philology
On June 16–17, 2026, the Faculty of Philology of 91ý Kazakh National University hosted a series of Oxford University Press methodological seminars organized by the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies.
The seminars were delivered by Assel Baibatyrova, Head of the Promotion Department at InterPress, the official representative of Oxford University Press in Kazakhstan. During the sessions, participants explored contemporary international approaches to English language teaching, innovative digital educational resources, and effective practices for developing language competencies.
The first seminar, “Read Your Way to Better English with Oxford Reading Club,” introduced the opportunities offered by the Oxford Reading Club platform. Participants discussed ways to develop reading skills, increase learner motivation, and integrate interactive digital resources into the educational process.

The second seminar, “Gets you talking: Why English File works,” focused on the practical implementation of the English File methodology in English language teaching. Participants examined modern teaching strategies aimed at enhancing students’ communicative competence, increasing engagement, and building confidence in spoken English.

The events brought together English language teachers, young researchers, doctoral students, and professionals interested in modern educational technologies and international language teaching methodologies. Such seminars contribute to the professional development of educators, the implementation of global best practices in education, and the strengthening of international academic cooperation.
