An Event on “Restoration of Pasture Ecosystems: Research Experience and Modern Approaches” Was Held
On March 19, 2026, a scientific and educational event titled “Restoration of Pasture Ecosystems: Research Experience and Modern Approaches” was held at the Department of Botany and Agroecology.
The event was organized and conducted by Kulymbet K.K., PhD, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Botany and Agroecology, and Tastanbekova A.A., Lecturer of the Department of Botany and Agroecology.

During the event, the current state of pasture ecosystems, the main causes of their degradation, restoration methods, and issues related to the rational use of natural resources were discussed. Students were also introduced to field research practices for pasture lands, methods for assessing vegetation cover, soil condition evaluation, and modern scientific approaches used in ecosystem restoration.
The topic of the event is closely related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 15. SDG 15 focuses on protecting, restoring, and promoting the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably managing forests, combating desertification, halting land degradation, and conserving biodiversity.
During the event, students discussed the ecological and social importance of conserving and restoring pasture ecosystems. Scientific approaches to the effective use of land resources, protection of vegetation cover, and biodiversity conservation were also presented.

At the end of the event, students shared their opinions on the topic and asked questions. Such scientific and educational meetings contribute to improving students’ environmental awareness, developing responsibility for the protection of natural ecosystems, and promoting the principles of sustainable development.
