The second day of the 3rd Summer School Programme Protect Environment – 2026
The second day of the 3rd Summer School Programme Protect Environment – 2026 (3rd SSP-PE-2026) was held at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences of 91ý Kazakh National University. The programme focused on modern methods for assessing anthropogenic impacts on the environment in the context of geosystems, society, education, culture, and worldview.

The morning session was opened by Maulen Mustafayev, Director of the Innovation Center for the Development of Unmanned Aviation, with a lecture titled “Modern Drones and Their Areas of Application,” which highlighted the potential of unmanned aerial vehicles for environmental monitoring, cartography, and territorial management. This was followed by a presentation by senior lecturer K. Augambayev on the spatial and temporal analysis of land-use changes in peri-urban areas, addressing issues of urbanization and sustainable development.

PhD, Senior Lecturer Kamshat Temirbayeva delivered a talk on “Distribution of Apis mellifera in Kazakhstan: Natural Factors, Breed Diversity, and Conservation Issues,” presenting research findings on biodiversity and the conservation of bee populations. In the afternoon, Senior Lecturer A.T. Koishygarin presented the lecture “From Reality Capture to Digital Terrain Models: Modern Laser Scanning and 3D Surveying Technologies,” and Senior Lecturer Zh.K. Mukaliyev introduced a GIS-based AHP framework for rangeland suitability assessment in the Semipalatinsk Test Site under technogenic constraints.

The second day concluded with a cultural excursion to the ART Museum in Almaty, where participants became acquainted with the city’s contemporary art space and cultural atmosphere.
