On April 20, 2026, the Department of Botany and Agroecology held an open curatorial hour for first-year students (groups 25-15 and 25-16) of the educational program “6B05102 – Biology” under the supervision of curator-advisor, PhD, Acting Associate Professor A.Zh. Childibayeva. The event was conducted within the framework of the SDG “Good Health and Well-being” and was devoted to the topic “Disease Prevention and Promotion of a Healthy Lifestyle”.

The main objective of the event was to increase students’ responsibility for their own health, provide information on disease prevention measures, and promote awareness of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. During the curatorial hour, participants received information about the causes of communicable and non-communicable diseases, as well as methods for their prevention. Particular attention was paid to healthy nutrition, regular physical activity, personal hygiene, avoidance of harmful habits, and the maintenance of mental and emotional well-being.

The event was organized in an interactive format, encouraging students to actively participate in discussions, share their opinions, and answer questions related to health promotion. In addition, a video on healthy living was shown, and educational games and situational tasks were conducted. At the conclusion of the event, participants emphasized that health is one of the most valuable aspects of human life and that disease prevention begins with personal responsibility and self-care. The activity contributed to the development of a health-conscious culture among students, fostered a responsible attitude toward personal well-being, and promoted the principles of a healthy lifestyle.

In summary, the open curatorial hour successfully achieved its objectives, increased students’ interest in health preservation and promotion, and contributed to the implementation of the SDG “Good Health and Well-being.”
