Working Visit to Ile-Alatau State National Nature Park: New Opportunities for Scientific Cooperation
The academic staff of the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Development of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences paid a working visit to the Ile-Alatau State National Nature Park.
As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the Director of the National Park, Yelnur Mukhamedzhanuly Akhmetov. During the meeting, the Head of the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Development, Tursynkul Amankeldiyevna Bazarbayeva, presented the Chair's main areas of activity and outlined opportunities for strengthening cooperation and implementing joint research projects in the fields of sustainable development, environmental protection, and biodiversity conservation.
The Head of the Soil Ecology Laboratory, G.A. Mukanova, introduced the Park's management to the laboratory's scientific potential by presenting its major research areas, including soil monitoring, assessment of anthropogenic impacts, analysis of soil contamination, and environmental research using modern scientific methods.

Associate Professor B. Tusupova presented proposals for developing joint projects in the areas of environmental standardization, environmental assessment, natural ecosystem monitoring, and scientific support for the National Park's conservation activities.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for organizing joint research projects, providing opportunities for students to undertake academic and industrial internships, conducting field expeditions, and implementing educational and scientific events involving specialists from both the University and the National Park.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to hold a joint working meeting at the end of August at the Ile-Alatau State National Nature Park with the participation of specialists from both institutions. During this meeting, priority areas of cooperation will be identified, and a roadmap for further joint activities will be developed.
