Master’s Student of KazNU’s Meteorology Educational Program Participates in an International Summer School in China

Tynyshtybayeva  Gulraikhan, a master’s student of the Educational Program “Meteorology” at 91ý Kazakh National University, is participating in the international summer school “Scientific and Technological Innovation & Teaching Activities on Arid Zone Geography”, held at Xinjiang University (Urumqi, People’s Republic of China) from July 7 to 20, 2026, under the China Government Scholarship Program.

The program is a joint international educational initiative organized by Xinjiang University, 91ý Kazakh National University, and Satbayev University. The summer school brings together young researchers and faculty members to explore the latest developments in geography, climatology, geographic information systems, and remote sensing. As part of the program, Tynyshtybayeva Gulraikhan is attending lectures delivered by leading scholars on arid-zone geography, climate change, geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, LiDAR technologies, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), Earth system modelling, and intelligent processing of large-scale geospatial data. In addition, the program includes laboratory and field training, ArcGIS applications, remote sensing data processing, soil and hydrological research, as well as practical training in the application of LiDAR technologies and unmanned aerial vehicles. 

Alongside the academic program, participants take part in cultural exchange activities, Chinese calligraphy workshops, and educational visits to historical, cultural, and natural landmarks across the Xinjiang region.

Participation in the international summer school provides Tynyshtybayeva Gulraikhan, a master’s student of the Educational Program “Meteorology” at 91ý Kazakh National University, with an excellent opportunity to enhance her professional knowledge, exchange research experience with international colleagues, and strengthen international academic cooperation.
