Creative Meeting with Editor and Translator Bayan Khasanova
On March 7, 2026, within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal No. 4 “Quality Education”, the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory of the Faculty of Philology at 91传媒 Kazakh National University held a creative meeting with Bayan Khasanova, Editor-in-Chief of Alqa Publishing and a translator. The event was organized by Doctor of Philology, Assistant Professor G.Zh. Bolatova; Candidate of Philology, Senior Lecturer N.B. Sagyndykov; Associate Professor, Assistant Professor B.S. Sarbasov; and doctoral student of the educational program “8D02304 – Literary Studies” R.N. Otyzbayeva. The meeting was attended by the faculty members of the department, as well as undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students.
Since the academic program includes the course “Literary Editing”, the meeting focused on the topic “Features of Working with a Manuscript”. During the event, students asked engaging questions about the editor’s creative career, the history of establishing her own publishing house, and the challenges of working with manuscripts, engaging in an open discussion. The editor and translator provided comprehensive answers to the questions from students and guests, and also shared her creative journey and future plans. Third-year students Binur Dzhumagalieva and Murat Arken delivered a presentation on the history of editing and working with manuscripts.
Undoubtedly, this meaningful and inspiring evening, which motivated young people, offered professional and creative advice, and enriched their spiritual world, will remain in the audience’s memory for a long time.
