“Contact and Genetic Connections”

On March 10, 2026, under the supervision of the Professor of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory, Doctor of Philology Saule Baymyrzakzy Erzhanova, first-year doctoral student Bayan Khasanova conducted a demo  seminar on the topic: “Contact and Genetic Connections.” The seminar was organized within the framework of SDG 5 Gender Equality. The main objective of the seminar was to enable students to analyze female characters in world literature from the perspective of contact and genetic connections, to examine their structural, functional, and thematic features, and to identify the gender and socio-cultural contexts in which these connections are manifested. During the seminar, the following scientific methods were employed: textual analysis, comparative method, thematic mapping, and graphical diagram construction. As a result, students gained a deeper understanding of the characteristics of female characters in world literature, identified their interrelations within texts, and comprehended their socio-cultural significance. Additionally, the seminar contributed to the development of students’ analytical skills, critical thinking, and expanded their scholarly perspectives on literary and gender-related values.
