KazNU scientists have developed an online course on organic chemistry
A new massive open online course "Laboratory Practice in Organic Chemistry" has been published on the Open KazNU platform, dedicated to the comprehensive formation of a scientific approach among students to planning and organizing a chemical experiment, as well as predicting optimal conditions for its conduct.
The program is designed for both students of chemical specialties and specialists seeking to deepen their practical skills in the laboratory.
A special feature of the course is the use of interactive elements and virtual simulators, which allows you to perform laboratory experiments that would not be available in ordinary classrooms.
The principle of training is based on the "from theory to practice" model, which helps consolidate the knowledge gained at the MOOC "Organic Chemistry of Aliphatic Compounds" and develop skills in the synthesis and analysis of organic compounds.
The main objectives of the course are to expand access to education, introduce innovative teaching methods with an emphasis on practical training of students in the laboratory and increase the recognition of KazNU at the national and international levels.

The course was developed by teachers of the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Organic Substances, Natural Compounds and Polymers of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University: Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Sergey Kalugin, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Alua Mamutova, PhD, Senior lecturer Altynai Kaldybayeva, Senior lecturer Zhanibek Asylkhanov.
The course is dedicated to the memory of teachers who made a significant contribution to the development of chemical education: Claudia Krupennikova, Natalia Bushneva, Sakipjamal Alimzhanova and Sholpan Akhmedova.
