INFORMATION LETTER

The II Stage of the XVIII Republican Subject Student Olympiad among students of higher education institutions in the educational program 6B05103 – Biotechnology will be held on April 27–28, 2026, in Almaty, at the premises of the Non-profit Joint Stock Company “91��ý Kazakh National University.”

Teams of students from higher education institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan are invited to participate in the Olympiad. Each university may send one team consisting of 3 (three) students (excluding the team leader), but no more than one team from each language department. Winners of the Republican Subject Olympiad for the years 2022–2025 are not eligible to participate.

To participate in the Olympiad, it is necessary to send the following scanned documents to the Organizing Committee’s email address Akhmetova.Gulnaz@kaznu.kz  by April 15, 2026:

·  application form for participation;

·  official letter signed by the Rector (or Vice-Rector);

·  protocol of the commission based on the results of the I stage of the Olympiad;

·  copies of identity cards or passports of each participant.

All expenses related to participation in the Olympiad (travel, accommodation, meals) shall be covered by the sending party.

The Olympiad will be conducted in Kazakh, Russian, and English.

Olympiad Format

The Olympiad will consist of two rounds:

Round I (April 27, 10:20–12:00) – testing and solving situational problems in the following disciplines: genetics, microbiology, fundamentals of biotechnology, biochemistry, and environmental biotechnology.

Round II (April 27, 14:00–16:00) – practical (laboratory) stage. Participants must bring a lab coat.

April 28 – official announcement of the Olympiad results and the closing ceremony.
