Today in celebration of the Day of Science Workers, an international scientific seminar entitled “Academic Writing in Research: Effective Methods and Strategies for Writing a Scientific Article” was held within the framework of the V Farabi Forum. The event was organized by the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science at 91ý Kazakh National University. This academic event was aimed at enhancing the culture of academic writing within the contemporary higher education system, improving the quality of presenting research outcomes at the international level, and strengthening the research capacity of young scholars.

This event plays an important role in the context of implementing one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals — SDG 4: “Quality Education.” In particular, this goal is aimed at ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education, as well as expanding opportunities for lifelong learning. The content of the seminar contributes to the practical implementation of this goal by enhancing academic and scientific competencies, developing research skills, and improving the quality of higher education.

The seminar was moderated by the Head of the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies, Professor A. Kurmanaliyeva, who emphasized in her opening remarks the scientific and methodological significance of the event. She highlighted the role of academic writing in the contemporary scholarly environment and underscored the strategic importance of supporting early-career researchers. She also particularly noted that the development of a publication culture aligned with the requirements of international scientific communication represents one of the key priorities of the department’s activities.

During the seminar, the speaker — Associate Professor of Istanbul University, PhD Mustafa Jelil Altuntaş — provided a detailed analysis of the structural and compositional features of scientific texts, emphasizing the importance of maintaining logical coherence between the introduction, methodology, results, and discussion sections. Furthermore, he demonstrated that citation practices are directly associated with academic integrity, explaining international standards for proper referencing and measures aimed at preventing plagiarism.

In addition, the seminar extensively discussed the specific requirements for preparing and submitting manuscripts to high-impact scientific journals, the stages of the peer-review process, and strategies for meeting editorial standards. The speaker particularly stressed that the quality of a scientific article is determined not only by its substantive originality but also by its structural integrity, argumentative logic, and adherence to academic language conventions.

The seminar also presented up-to-date insights into strategies for systematically reporting research results, methods of data interpretation, and contemporary trends in the development of scientific discourse. Participants were provided with practical recommendations aimed at enhancing their effectiveness within the international scientific communication space.

This seminar made a significant contribution to the development of the academic potential of young researchers, the formation of a culture of scientific communication, and their integration into the global scholarly community. The event also served as a platform for academic exchange, fostering professional dialogue and interaction among participants.

In conclusion, participants actively engaged in discussions, asked questions, and shared their research experiences, while also identifying promising directions for future collaborative research projects and international academic cooperation. It was noted that such formats of events have a positive impact on the development of the scientific community, the improvement of research quality, and the strengthening of academic integration.
