Motivation and Goal Achievement

On October 28, 2025, an open educational lesson titled “Motivation and Goal Achievement” was conducted by Gulnur Nursainovna Borbasova, Senior Lecturer at the Department of General and Applied Psychology. The event was attended by second-year students majoring in Medicine.

The topic is highly relevant, as motivation is considered a key psychological mechanism underlying personal development, goal attainment, and the realization of life strategies. Therefore, an important objective is to foster students’ understanding of motivation, activate intrinsic motivation, and develop effective goal-achievement strategies.

The aim of the lesson was to explore the concept of motivation, analyze its role in human life, examine the psychological aspects of goal setting and achievement, and encourage students to define and systematically pursue their goals. Additional emphasis was placed on promoting self-development and awareness of professional growth pathways.

During the lesson, students were introduced to major theories of motivation, its types, and its role in achieving success. Particular attention was given to intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and their influence on behavior. The practical component included applying effective goal-setting techniques, including the SMART framework.

The lesson was conducted in an interactive format, with students preparing presentations and engaging in discussions about their personal goals and motivational sources. This facilitated the development of communication skills and independent thinking.

The final part included motivational videos and interactive tasks such as psychological exercises and logical challenges, which enhanced student engagement and interest.

Overall, the lesson was conducted at a high academic level, contributing to the integration of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, as well as to the development of students’ motivational orientation and personal growth.
