SDG – 4: Online Session on “Stress and Anxiety While Studying in a Foreign Country”
An online session was held for international students from the Faculties of Mechanics and Mathematics and Physics and Technology on the topic “Stress and Anxiety While Studying in a Foreign Country.”
The event focused on discussing psychological challenges faced by students during adaptation to a new cultural, academic, and social environment. Key sources of stress were explored, including language barriers, academic workload, changes in daily routines, and the process of building new social connections.

Special attention was given to emotional responses during the adaptation period, as well as ways to recognize and constructively manage them. Participants discussed the importance of support from both peers and the university environment, as well as the need to seek help when experiencing difficult emotional states.
In the practical part of the session, students shared their personal adaptation experiences, discussed coping strategies for anxiety, and explored ways to strengthen psychological resilience while studying abroad. The online format facilitated open dialogue and created a safe space for sharing personal experiences.

The session contributed to increasing international students’ awareness of stress mechanisms, strengthening emotional self-regulation skills, and supporting their adaptation to the academic environment.
