Women in Science and Healthcare: Challenges and Achievements

As part of the activities of the Council of Young Scientists and in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 5 – Gender Equality), the Department of Health Policy and Organization held a round table entitled “Women in Science and Healthcare: Challenges and Achievements.”

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Care participated in the event, expressing support for young researchers and emphasizing the significant contribution of women to the advancement of science and the healthcare system. A total of 12 participants attended the round table. 

Presentations were delivered by:

– Aruzhan Toktabek – 1st-year Master’s student, Medicine;

– Inara Abashidze – 3rd-year PhD student, Medicine;

– Muniram Kurbanova – 2nd-year PhD student, Nursing;

– Gulzhan Alzhanbekova – 3rd-year PhD student, Nursing;

– Aiganym Baikenzheyeva – 1st-year PhD student, Medicine.

Key discussion points:

Master’s and PhD students of the Faculty presented research reports addressing women’s professional development in science, existing challenges, and prospects for supporting early-career researchers.

At the conclusion of the event, participants highlighted the high practical significance of the topics discussed.

The round table facilitated the exchange of scientific experience, encouraged discussion of current issues in research development, and strengthened academic collaboration.
