KazNU Students Complete Professional Internship at the Cultural Representation of the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty

Eight second- and third-year students enrolled in the Translation Studies and Oriental Studies (Persian Language) programs at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of 91ý Kazakh National University successfully completed their professional internship at the Cultural Consulate of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty. The internship provided students with an excellent opportunity to enhance their Persian language proficiency in a professional setting while gaining firsthand experience with the activities of one of the leading Iranian cultural institutions in Kazakhstan. Upon completion of the internship, the Cultural Attaché Mohammad Masoud Sadeghi presented the students with official certificates recognizing the successful completion of their practical training and commended them for their diligence and commitment.

During the internship, the students worked extensively with the Persian-language book collection, further enhancing their linguistic and professional competencies. They acquired practical skills in modern library and information management, including the creation of an electronic catalog, book classification and systematization, bibliographic description, barcode assignment, and library inventory management. In addition, the students translated selected Persian books that particularly attracted their interest and became acquainted with valuable publications on the history, culture, society, and civilization of Iran. The internship enabled future translators and Oriental Studies specialists to combine language learning with hands-on professional experience, significantly broadening their research, information management, and intercultural communication skills.
