Scientific Research Institute for Mathematics and Mechanics
The Institute was organized by the decision of the Academic Council of 91传媒 Kazakh State University by order No. 167 of October 13, 1994. In September 2002, by Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 984, it was reorganized into a Subsidiary State Enterprise on the right of economic management "Scientific Research Institute for Mathematics and Mechanics" of the Republican State Enterprise on the right of economic management "91传媒 Kazakh National University". In 2015, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Academician of IEAS Kydyrbekuly Almatbek Balgabekovich was appointed director of the Research Institute for Mathematics and Mechanics. In 2020, on the basis of the order of the rector of 91传媒 KazNU No. 300 dated September 09, 2020. SSE SRI MM was transformed into SRI MM.

SRI MM is a highly intelligent scientific institution of the global scientific community, carrying out scientific research in the field of mathematics, mechanics and computer science at a high scientific level, deserving worldwide recognition for its extraordinary approaches to solving recognized urgent problems, leading to the creation of new highly efficient industrial production, providing its employees with a triumph freedom of the individual and the comfortable existence of his family and the people around him.
The mission of SRI MM is to create conditions for a team of scientists to be an integration center for scientific research in the field of mathematics, mechanics and information technology, to be at the forefront of the development of world science and technology, to be a major source of new ideas and new innovative technologies in the world, which are of great practical importance and serving as the basis for the development of new highly efficient industrial production, to have an attractive force for young creative personalities to become prominent scientists in their fields of scientific activity.
Institute development strategy
Creation of a team of scientists recognized in the scientific world, capable of solving major national economic problems that contribute to the country's entry into a number of highly developed countries of the world by developing and forming a scientific base for training young specialists by involving them in scientific projects of great practical importance and representing access to industrial technology for creating highly profitable production and standing at the forefront of global scientific research activity.

INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC COOPERATION
The activities of the institute in the field of international cooperation are aimed at organizing cooperation on joint programs and projects, establishing contacts with international funds, organizations, representative offices, exchanging scientists and specialists, training and educating young professionals, holding international meetings, conferences and olympiads. There are scientific relations with more than 40 universities and scientific centers of near and far abroad.
Research work and exchange of experience with 20 foreign centers and organizations of the EU countries are carried out: University of Newcastle upon Tune, (Newcastle upon Tune, the Great Britain), Keele University (the Great Britain), Florida Atlantic University (USA), Universitat Politecnicade Valencia (Valencia, Spain), Blecinge Institute of Technology (Ronnebi, Sweden), University of Vienna (Austria), University of Heidelberg and Technical University of Berlin (Germany), University of Rome "La Sapienza" and University of Siena (Italy), National Technical University of Lorraine (France), Institute of Aerodynamics RWTH Aachen (Aachen, Germany), University of Manchester (England), University of Science and Technology (Krakow, Poland) and others.
Contracts and agreements with universities in Korea, Japan, China and India: Korea Institute of Footwear and Leather Technology (Busan, South Korea), Information and Communications University (Seoul, Korea), University of Information and Communications Seoul (South Korea), universities of Tokyo, Nagoya and Aoyama (Japan), Peking University (China).
The scientists of the Institute continue to develop cooperation in the form of scientific exchanges, consultations, discussions of research results with US universities: Brigham Young University (Provo), New York University, the University of Louisiana, the University of Virginia, the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Illinois at Chicago. Long-term scientific relations are maintained with Russian universities and academic institutions: Moscow State University, Novosibirsk State University SB RAS, Institute of Computational Technologies SB RAS, Institute of Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Geophysics SB RAS, Institute of Hydrodynamics SB RAS and others.
