KazNU Celebrates Traditional Alumni DayAlmaty
On May 30, Alabi Kazakh National University hosted its traditional "Alumni Day – 2026" celebration. The solemn event was attended by Bauyrzhan Omarov, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Altynbek Nukhuly, Member of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Kairat Mami, Chairman of the KazNU Board of Directors; and Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNU. Graduates from various generations, spanning from 5 to 60 years since their graduation, gathered to reconnect with their alma mater.The large-scale event commenced with a wreath-laying ceremony at the 91ý monument. Opening the festive evening with a welcoming speech, Rector Zhanseit Tuimebayev expressed his sincere gratitude to all the guests who returned to their home university.During the gathering, Presidential Advisor Bauyrzhan Omarov and Chairman of the Board of Directors Kairat Mami addressed the audience, congratulating the university staff and its proud alumni on this significant occasion. The speakers highly praised KazNU's contribution to the development of domestic science and education, expressing confidence that the university will continue to reach new heights.As part of the concert program, the guests sang the legendary song "Armandastar" together, followed by a colorful firework display in their honor. The audience highly appreciated the traditional alumni waltz, modern soundtracks performed by the "Farabi Sazy" student folk instrument orchestra, as well as performances by the newly formed "ART-life band" vocal-instrumental ensemble and a contemporary dance routine by the class of 2026. International students also took the stage to deliver their congratulations, highlighting the global prestige of the university.The festive event, which featured a medley of popular songs about Almaty, concluded with the performance of the patriotic anthem "Zhasai ber, KazNU-ym!".
